Eli’s Bio
About Me
I am an aspiring theologian, philosopher, teacher, and advocate, a husband to the beautiful and amazing Robin, father to my wonderful son, Ezekiel, a self-acclaimed cinephile/movie critic, and an avid fantasy football player. I am from the south Metro-Atlanta area in Georgia, but I have lived in Lafayette, Louisiana since 2014 where I have worked as the Assistant Pastor at Redeemer City Church and as the Admin./Ministry Assistant at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at the University of Louisiana. I completed a B.S. in Computer Science in 2013 before moving on to acquire my M.Div. with a Specialization in Christian Apologetics in 2018. It was during my M.Div. studies that I fell in love with philosophy.
I feel a calling to study and teach theology and philosophy, and to invest in the spiritual formation of others. I have two passions that I would love to apply this to. One is in advocacy. I am always looking for new ways to advocate against the injustices of our world. The other is in culture. I have a love of culture and how theology and philosophy interact with pop culture (especially film) and society’s ideals. I also love to invest in others through teaching and mentoring.
